Benefits of a riser recliner chair

The recline position

There are many potential benefits of sitting in a chair with the backrest reclined and the legs raised. An ideal biomechanical position can be achieved, which can reduce strain on the spine and its associated ligaments. This in turn may help to reduce back pain and improve posture.

The tilt-in-space recline action of our bespoke chairs shifts the centre of gravity of the body, redistributing weight from the seat to the back. This can assist with the prevention of pressure ulcers (also known as pressure sores) if extended periods of time are spent in the chair. The tilt-in-space action also helps to prevent the back from sliding against the chair as it reclines, protecting the skin from friction.

Easy, one-button adjustment allows frequent and easy positional changes of the backrest and footrest to improve comfort.

There are a number of reasons that someone might experience difficulty getting into and out of a chair. Whatever the reason, a riser recliner chair can often provide valuable assistance in allowing someone to stand and sit safely and comfortably.

The rise function effortlessly and smoothly assists you to a standing position, removing stress and strain from the hips, legs and arms and may reduce the potential risk of falls. Sitting becomes equally easy when the chair is lowered again.

Seating assessment

Our seating assessment service is absolutely free and takes around 60 minutes.

We can do this either in the comfort of your own home or you can come and visit us at our Long Eaton showroom. We are fully COVID compliant.

During this time, we evaluate your individual needs and situation.

By taking the time to fully understand your individual requirements, we can ensure that we match you with a chair which is going to enhance your posture, comfort, overall wellbeing and general health. 

We offer a friendly and efficient 3 step assessment process to help you choose your perfect chair.

 

Step 1 - Pre-assessment questionnaire

Your pre-assessment questionnaire takes around 5 minutes and can be carried out in our showroom or over the phone to give us a good picture of what you need before we get down to the finer detail.

 

Step 2 - In-person assessment

You can visit us at our showroom, or we can visit you at home, in hospital or in your care setting to carry out our in-person assessment. We bring a variety of specialist seating and accessories and we'll assess and measure you. At the end of the assessment we'll be able to recommend and agree the best chair for your needs.

 

Step 3 - Delivery and setup

Should you go ahead with our recommendation, we'll arrange delivery, then set up your equipment and show you how to use it. If you need any support after your purchase our aftercare team are here to give you any help you need.

 

Visiting our showroom

Should you wish to visit us at our showroom, then we will do our best to make your visit as enjoyable and helpful as possible. You’ll be welcomed by one of our professional and caring furniture assessors. During this time, we are taking every precaution with regards to following the COVID guidelines, so you can feel completely safe and at ease. When you come in, we provide you with a new, disposable mask and hand sanitiser. All members of our friendly team also wear a mask at all times. We have a guest book which you will need to complete for track and trace purposes.

You’ll be offered a warm or cold drink and welcomed into our large, airy showroom. We have the whole range of chair and bed styles that we currently manufacture here at our Long Eaton factory available for you to see. After speaking with you to gain an in-depth understanding of your requirements and preferences, we will suggest, demonstrate and explain products that you are interested in.

We then take your measurements in order to design a fully tailored, bespoke chair that suits your body perfectly. This ensures that the end product provides you with the ultimate in comfort and the best level of support and independence. You will be able to select the style, fabric and colours you would like, to personalise the chair and create your ideal piece of furniture.
